Ryanair Flight Delay and Cancellation Compensation
What Ryanair says about compensation for delayed and cancelled flights: when you can claim, the amounts, how to claim and what to do if it refuses.
Ryanair says valid passenger rights compensation claims must be sent directly to it through its compensation form, to receive the full entitlement. Consumer Protection UK is independent and is not connected to Ryanair. This page sets out what Ryanair itself says on its official page, checked on 4 October 2026.
When Ryanair Says You Can Claim
- Ryanair says to claim directly to it through its compensation form on myRyanair rather than through a third party.
- Its page mentions that cancellations notified 14 or more days ahead are treated differently, but does not set out a claim deadline.
Amounts
| Flight distance | Ryanair |
|---|---|
| Flights up to 1,500 km | £220 (€250 under EU261) |
| 1,500 to 3,500 km | £350 (€400) |
| Other flights | £520 (€600) as Ryanair lists it. The CAA says £260 if you arrive 3 to 4 hours late on flights over 3,500 km, and £520 if 4 hours or more. |
These are the amounts Ryanair lists on its passenger rights page for UK and EU rules. Euro amounts apply to flights under EU261.
Help While You Wait
- It says that if you are re-routed promptly you are provided with meals, two communications, hotel accommodation if an overnight stay is needed, and reasonable transport between the airport and your accommodation.
How to Claim
Ryanair says to submit your claim through its compensation form on myRyanair. Its passenger rights page is mainly a list of linked help articles, so check the linked articles for the detail.
Time limit: Ryanair’s page does not state one. The legal time limit is 6 years in England and Wales and 5 in Scotland (Civil Aviation Authority).
