Helping People Across the UK Understand Their Rights and Complain Effectively
CPUK is an independent consumer-advocacy initiative. We give everyday people free tools, plain-English guides and letter templates so they can complain with confidence, wherever they are in the United Kingdom.
We explain your options and point you to the right next step, whether that is the business itself, an ombudsman, an ADR scheme or the small claims process.
Who We Are
Consumer Protection UK (CPUK) is an independent consumer-advocacy initiative and is registering as a community interest company in England and Wales (company number pending). Managed directly by our founding directors, our small team supports consumers across the whole UK.
Too many people abandon fair complaints because the process feels overwhelming and the rules are difficult to find. CPUK simplifies the journey by providing one place to find your rights, identify the right contact, and plan your next steps.
We are not a law firm, a regulator or a claims company, and we do not give legal advice or promise any outcome. What we do is explain, in plain English, what the rules say and help you put your case clearly and calmly, so you can decide what to do next.
Our guides, templates and tools are free to use, and you do not need an account to try them. Everything links back to the official sources, so you can always check what we say for yourself.
What CPUK Offers
- A central case hub to track your complaint, organising key dates, letters, company replies, and reminders in one place.

Becoming a Community Interest Company
CPUK is currently registering as a Community Interest Company (CIC) in England and Wales (company number pending). This reflects our foundational commitment to operating entirely for public benefit while maintaining a sustainable, independent consumer support platform.
Once registered, CPUK may charge fees for certain premium services or strategic interventions. These fees will go strictly toward sustaining our independent operations and expanding core consumer protection activities across the UK.
We share this openly because you have a right to know who is behind CPUK and how it operates. CPUK is run by its two directors, and we commit to being open about how the company is set up, how any income is used, and the scope of our services.
Defined Social Purpose
We operate with a community-focused mandate centred on individual consumer protection and broader public benefit.
Community Benefit
Our core activities are structured to support everyday consumers while contributing directly to long-term marketplace fairness.
Asset Lock Protection
Once registered, we will be legally bound by a strict asset lock, ensuring our assets and profits are used for our social objectives.
What We Are, and What We Are Not
What We Are Not
- We are not a law firm and do not provide legal advice.
- We are not a regulator, ombudsman, or government body, so we cannot legally compel a business to take action.
- We are not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), so we do not offer financial, debt, or investment advice or handle regulated financial claims.
- We never endorse specific companies or accept payment for features or placements in our guides.
- We provide guidance and tools but cannot guarantee a specific outcome for your case.
How We Keep It Honest
- Our guides link directly to official reference sources and state when we last checked them.
- We only publish case results, statistics, and reviews from real CPUK cases.
- Our service standards, complaints procedure and policies are fully public. If we fall short, you can make a formal complaint about us.
- We maintain strict independence from the companies we write about.
Meet the Directors
CPUK is a family-run company with two directors. We would rather you knew exactly who is behind it.
Luke Marley
Founder & Director
“I founded CPUK after seeing firsthand how difficult it can be for everyday consumers to navigate complicated forms, rigid corporate systems, and endless phone queues. Our mission is to strip away that complexity and build intuitive tools that tip the balance back in your favour.”
Katie Burt
Director
“With a background in professional care and supporting vulnerable adults, I know how challenging it can be to ask for assistance. I manage operations at CPUK alongside Luke to ensure our platform remains exceptionally clear, accessible, and supportive for everyone who uses it.”
