Dunelm Returns and Refunds: Policy and Your Rights
What Dunelm says about returns and refunds: the window, costs, refund timing, exclusions and faulty items, plus your legal rights.
Dunelm’s returns page sets out its change-of-mind window, refund timing and what it will not take back. Consumer Protection UK is independent and is not connected to Dunelm. This page sets out what Dunelm itself says on its official page, checked on 4 October 2026.
Dunelm’s Returns Policy, in Brief
| Question | As Dunelm states it |
|---|---|
| Return window | 28 days from purchase under its change of mind policy. An extended returns policy may apply at certain times of year. |
| Large items | For furniture over 15 kg or over 120 cm, home collection is available (arranged through live chat or its contact form). Its page does not say who pays for it. |
| Refunds | Refunds go to your original payment method, 7 to 10 working days after the item arrives and is checked. Card payments take 3 to 5 working days, as do Klarna and PayPal. Creation Finance takes 3 to 5 working days and then a further 5 to 10 days from the finance company. |
| Cannot be returned | Some items cannot be returned or exchanged unless faulty. Its page points to the full policy for the list. |
| Faulty items | Damaged or faulty items are replaced or refunded. Delivery charges are refunded only if the whole order is damaged or faulty. Faulty non-furniture items can be returned in store. For furniture faults within 30 days it offers repair or replacement; after 30 days an independent inspector assesses the fault under consumer law. |
Your Rights on Top of the Store Policy
- For goods bought online, by phone or by mail order you can usually cancel within 14 days of receiving them, and the seller must refund within 14 days of getting them back. See changed your mind about an online order.
- For a faulty item, see your right to a refund, repair or replacement and our rights checker.
