How to Cancel BT (broadband/TV)

- A 30-day notice period applies. Leaving before the minimum term (typically 12, 18 or 24 months) incurs an early termination fee equal to the remaining monthly charges plus VAT. Check your terms for cooling-off rights on new orders.

How to Cancel
- Check your contract end date in My BT or the My BT app
- Phone BT on 0800 783 1401 to cancel
- Service ends 30 days after you cancel
- If switching provider, the new provider handles the switch
Useful to Know
- Phone lines open daily, with shorter hours at weekends
Your Rights, Whoever the Company Is
- If you signed up online or by phone, you normally have a 14-day cancellation period (with exceptions, for example where you have already started using digital content).
- If you were charged after a free trial and the renewal or price was not made clear, ask for a refund and say so in writing. Your card provider can help if the company will not.
- You can ask your bank to stop a card or Direct Debit payment you have cancelled. Keep your cancellation proof.
- If you subscribed through Apple, Google or another app store, you must cancel there, not with the company.
