Argos Returns and Refunds: Policy and Your Rights
What Argos says about returns and refunds: the window, costs, refund timing, exclusions and faulty items, plus your legal rights.
Argos’s returns page sets out its change-of-mind window, refund timing and what it will not take back. Consumer Protection UK is independent and is not connected to Argos. This page sets out what Argos itself says on its official page, checked on 4 October 2026.
Argos’s Returns Policy, in Brief
| Question | As Argos states it |
|---|---|
| Return window | 30 days from collection or delivery. Items bought between 23 September and 25 December have an extended window to 31 January. |
| Cost of returning | £3.95 collection charge for small items and £30 for large items, unless faulty or delivered by a supplier. For Tu clothing, £3.50 postage is deducted from the refund unless faulty. |
| Refunds | Argos says 14 days after it receives and inspects the return, to your original payment method. For cancellations under consumer regulations, within 14 days after it receives the goods back. |
| Cannot be returned | Personalised goods, opened software and games, perishables, opened sealed collectibles, digital content, newspapers and magazines, hygiene-sensitive items (such as razors, make-up, underwear and earphones) and unsealed items such as paint or perfume. |
| Faulty items | Within 30 days you are entitled to a refund. After 30 days and within 12 months, a repair or replacement at no cost, or a refund if that does not resolve it. Damaged or faulty items do not need their original packaging. |
